Equivalent Courses at Some Nearby Community Colleges
The table below provides a listing of courses at some nearby community colleges that will transfer in as equivalent to our PSYC 1, 5, and 8 courses. Some courses no longer being offered by other colleges may have been approved as equivalent in the past, and a number of colleges are not listed below. The Psychology Department office has a complete list of courses considered equivalent to PSYC 1, 5, and 8 from community colleges and universities in California. To ask about approval of courses not on that list, or approval for meeting other requirements with transfer courses, you should contact the Department Office to schedule a meeting with the Department Chair. You will be asked to show a catalog description or course syllabus to the Chair to aid in the discussion.

*ARC & SacCity - Psyc 1 may be used to meet either the Psyc 1 or 5 requirement, but NOT both. Psyc 1 at CSUS, ARC, or Sac City each possess the same California Articulation Number (CAN). Therefore, it can be counted toward your degree program only once, regardless of whether it is taken at CSUS, ARC, or Sac City. So Psyc 1 taken at any of these three campuses can only count once toward your degree requirements. So please do not take Psyc 1 at two of these campuses and expect it to count for two separate requirements.
