Counseling and Psychological Services is staffed by licensed psychiatrists, psychologists, marriage and family therapists, social workers and supervised interns. We are a diverse group from the standpoint of age, gender, ethnicity, and special skills. Our staff consists of the following professionals:

Annell Adams, MD

Psychiatrist
Dr. Adams holds board certification in psychiatry as well as in integrative and holistic medicine, and has advanced training with the Center for Mind Body Medicine.  Thus far in her career, she has focused on integrative and holistic medicine, as well as women’s mental health.  Dr. Adams studied nutrition as an undergraduate, and completed an adult psychiatry residency.  Dr. Adams incorporates nutrition and mind-body skills in her evaluation and treatment of patients, taking a functional medicine approach to psychiatric evaluations and management.  Dr. Adams believes that through this approach, people can achieve their optimal potential.

Mei Fang Lan, PhD

Psychologist
Dr. Lan is a Licensed Psychologist.  She received her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology (APA accredited) from New York University and completed her internship (APA accredited) at Manhattan Psychiatric Center and postdoctoral clinical training in UC Davis Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. She provides individual, couple, and group therapy as well as psychological assessment, consultation, liaison, outreach, and training services. Dr. Lan’s clinical, research, and teaching interests include group therapy, psychodynamic therapy, Dialectical Behavior therapy, trauma recovery, emotional intelligence, mind-body connection, addictive behaviors, multicultural counseling, severe psychopathology, and supervision.

Regina Kentner, PsyD

Psychologist
Dr. Kentner is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. She received her B.A. in Psychology from UC Santa Cruz and her M.A. and PsyD in Clinical Psychology from California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University. Dr. Kentner’s areas of interest include Grief/Loss, Developmental and Learning Disabilities, and Life Transitions.

Laili McGrew, LCSW

Licensed Social Worker
Laili is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She attended Sacramento State for both her B.A. in Child Development and her Masters Degree in Social Work.  She has been licensed since 1994.  She enjoys working with all ages, but especially enjoys working with adolescents and young adults.  Some areas of interest include improving self care, making healthy relationship choices, body image issues and helping people resolve trauma.

Gloria Petruzzelli, PsyD

Psychologist
Dr. Petruzzelli is a Licensed Psychologist and obtained her Doctorate in Psychology from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Dr. Petruzzelli has had specialized training in the areas of Health Psychology, Sports Psychology, Athlete Issues, Psychological Testing, and College Student Issues.  Dr. Petruzzelli is an advocate of students and people reaching their peak potential in life, school, and sport.

Rene’ Reis, MFT

Licensed Therapist

Rene’ has been a licensed Marriage & Family therapist since 2000.  She obtained both her BA and MS from CSUS.  Rene’ has been providing individual, couple, family and group therapy since attending Grad School in the mid 1990’s.  She worked at W.E.A.V.E., a domestic violence and sexual assault agency for over seven years where she developed her knowledge, skills and compassion working with individuals who have experienced trauma.  Rene’ later became the clinical director for a county mental health clinic where she provided years of clinical supervision for individuals working towards a license in Marriage and Family Therapy, Clinical Social Work and Clinical Psychology.  Rene’ feels she has found herself “back home” as part of the CSUS team and has commitment and determination in supporting students’ desire to develop skills and empathy with themselves, whether it is to manage emotions, stress, trauma or relationships.

 

Michael "Mick" Rogers, LCSW

Licensed Social Worker
Mick graduated from UNC-CH in 1980. He focused on families overcoming serious physical health problems, poverty and abuse. He is interested in working with couples who are overcoming relationship crises. Mick is certified as an Advanced Clinical Supervisor.

Kayleigh Lembke

Kayleigh received two Associates Degrees from Sierra College in Deaf Studies and Liberal Arts. She obtained two Bachelor’s Degrees from Sacramento State in Social Work and Deaf Studies. She is currently studying to obtain her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Sacramento State and is excepted to graduate in the Spring of 2012. She specializes in Deaf Culture, American Sign Language proficiency, as well as knowledge and experience with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Applied Behavior Analysis Therapy.

Nathan Stuckey
Nathan Stuckey - MSW Intern.jpg

Nathan Stuckey received his BA from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo in Social Sciences with a minor in Psychology.  Nathan is particularly interested in nutrition and mental health and is currently writing his thesis on the topic.  Nathan has been trained in cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing and has worked with individuals, groups, and families.  Nathan has special interest in working with grief and trauma, depression, and with impulse control disorders.  Nathan plans on pursing his license in clinical social work upon graduation.  Nathan enjoys surfing, pilates, yoga, and backpacking.
