Learning Disabilty (LD) Testing

PCS provides extensive LD Testing for Sacramento State students. This testing typically requires four two-hour sessions of testing, plus an additional hour for feedback. Thus, the testing process usually takes approximatley five weeks. Students are typically provided many different diagnostic instruments to assess for a variety of learning disabilities. Given the extensive nature of the testing, there is a fee of $100.

Students wishing to receive testing need to complete a Testing Questionnaire available at our office. This takes about 30 minutes to complete. Then, they will have a drop-in session of about 30 additional minutes with one of our counselors. Frequently, there is a wait-list for testing, and so there may be a delay of some weeks before the testing process will then begin.

If it is determined that a student has a learning disability, they may sign an authorization for us to communicate to the Services for Students with Disabilities (SSWD) office. We will provide them a report detailing the disability such that they can arrange special accommodations in the classroom.
