Wayne Thiebaud
comes home to Sac
State

More than 40 works by internationally acclaimed artist and CSUS alumnus
Wayne Thiebaud will be on display this spring at the new University Library
Gallery. The Gallery was built with the help of $50,000 donated through
the University Fund. The exhibition opens April 4, 2003, during the Universitys
11th annual Festival of the Arts, and extends through July 25.
- Thiebaud
has actually received three degrees from CSUS: a bachelors degree
in art in 1951, a masters degree in art in 1953, and an honorary
Ph.D. in fine arts in 1998.
- The recipient
of numerous awards and honors, Thiebaud received the National Medal
of Arts Presidential Award in 1994. The works in the exhibition will
represent a survey from virtually the entire length of Thiebauds
career, the 1950s to 2003.
