Embracing new directions in excellence Sac State has begun looking for successful alums, business owners and community leaders interested in supporting the University in a special partnership as founding members of the President’s Circle. Already, responses are coming in for the new organization, which will provide a source for community advice, as well as funds for the President to address unexpected opportunities for the campus that are not planned for or covered within the regular budget. These can include hosting dignitaries, special conferences, showcasing the University, and donor development.
The gifts received through the President’s Circle are among the most precious in that they allow the President to use them to enhance the University in unique and unusual ways. The individuals who join President’s Circle are interested in making a difference in the University and its role in the community and in many instances they want the University to play a greater role in shaping the lives not only of students, but also the community at large. Their willingness to give will provide that opportunity. “President’s Circle members will play a key role in bringing the University closer to—and integrated with—the Sacramento region, in creative ways that serve both the best interests of the University and the region,” President Alexander Gonzalez said. “I look forward to getting acquainted with these individuals who consider the University a high priority.” Membership will include privileges such as frequent meetings with the President, recognition as a University philanthropist, courtesy parking when on campus, special campus identification, a newsletter, invitations to special events and a designated campus contact. Donation levels begin at $1,500 and climb to $10,000 and above. Anyone interested in additional information may contact Karyn Domich at (916) 278-3642. |
