- JACK D. HANSEN
'61, B.A., Education, '66, M.A., School Administration, retired from the Red Bluff School District after 42 years in education, the last 25 as a superintendent. He recently started a consulting firm, Hansen and Associates, which provides school management and negotiations services. He is a former vice president of the Sacramento State Alumni Association.

is retired; he now is the editor of In the Groove for the Michigan Antique Phonograph Society. Eileen Stewart, '67, B.A., Journalism, is the associate editor. The Stewarts live in Battle Creek, Mich., and have one grandchild, Elizabeth.

- ROBERT STRICKLAND
'71, B.S., Mechanical Engineering, received the Engineering Award from Army Corps of Engineers in 1971. He went on to receive his master's degree in mechanical engineering, thermal systems from UC Berkeley in 1972. After working for Safeway Stores, Inc. for 15 years as manager of energy management, he is currently vice president of engineering for Invensys, a United Kingdom-based company. He received the Chief Executive Product Design Award in London in 2001. He is married with two sons- one is at Sac State as a biology major, and the other served with the Marines in Desert Storm and is now a deputy sheriff in Alameda County. The Stricklands live in Martinez, Calif.

'72, M.A., Social Science, has been reappointed as a Sacramento County juvenile justice and delinquency prevention
commissioner for a four-year term.
- RONALD HOLTE
'72, M.B.A, recently sold his interest in the consulting firm Outsourcing Management Group, located in Sacramento, and is employed with Quest Capital Strategies, Inc. as a registered representative. Since 1995, he has been living in Kauai, Hawaii.
- MARGARET COULTHARD POBYWANLO
'73, M.A., English, completed her doctorate in education at the University of New Hampshire last December. Her dissertation was titled "The Role-Taking Experience of Undergraduate Peer Tutors: A Cognitive-Developmental Approach." During her six-and-a-half-year pursuit of the degree, she worked full-time at the Learning Center at UNH-Manchester where she is the director. She resides in New Hampshire.
- PAUL GROZA, JR.
'74, B.A., Accountancy, retired after 28 years as a U.S. postal inspector. He was recognized by Congress and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children for his work investigating cases involving the sexual exploitation of children. He specialized in prohibitive
mailing investigations and was a member of the International Association of Bomb Technicians and Investigators. He has also been named Alumnus of the Year by Sacramento City College. He lives in Southern Oregon.
- JANET NICHOLS LYNCH
'74, B.A., Music, recently published her fourth book, Where Words Leave Off Music Begins: Stories. Her fifth book, the coming-of-age novel Peace is a Four Letter Word will be released by Heyday Books later this year. She lives in Visalia, Calif.
- LAURA MOHR
'74, M.A., Behavorial Science, recently had a scholarship named in her honor by the South Carolina Council for Exceptional Children, to be awarded to a student studying to teach special education.
Mohr is retired from public school education after working more than 30 years as an education and special education teacher, school psychologist, and district administrator for special services. She now has a psycho-educational consulting business and teaches part-time as adjunct faculty in special education. She lives in South Carolina.

'74, B.S., Civil Engineering, recently completed his tenure as president of the County Engineers Association of California and was nominated by his peers to the National Association of County Engineers as California's nominee for the national Rural County Engineer of the Year. He is the county engineer and public works director for Lake County, where he has been since 1981.
- BOB COOPER
'76, B.A., Journalism/English, received the inaugural ASJA "Arlene" Award in April from the American Society of Journalists and Authors in New York. He has published two books on running and works full time as a freelance writer. He earned the award for a San Francisco Chronicle Magazine story on a charity that builds libraries in impoverished Asian countries. He lives in San Anselmo, Calif.

76, B.A., Drama, is in her 21st year as a member of the theatre arts faculty at Sacramento City College. She is also on the board of the Theatre/Dance Chapter of the Alumni Association. She is the resident director for the college's City Theatre and the Sacramento Shakespeare Festival.
- GAIL HAYDEN
'78, B.A., Economics, '84, M.B.A., was on the management team that developed the Certified Farmers' Market system in California. For the next 10 years, she founded and operated more than 30 certified farmers' markets in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 1994, she co-founded the California Farmers' Markets Association, CFMA, with her husband. This year, she was recognized as the Farmers' Market Manager of the Year at North American Farmers' Direct Marketing Association
banquet in Boston.
- SHERRY DOCTOR FELTEN
'79, B.A., Nursing, visited Bangalore, India with the ACTS Ministry last year to assist with financial, health and educational concerns. She and her husband, Gene, have home-schooled five children and now have two in college. She is a registered principal and securities representative with Citigroup's subsidiary Primerica Financial Services and is on the staff at George L. Mee Memorial Hospital in King City, Calif. She also teaches at local elementary
and secondary schools. She and Gene live in Prunedale, Monterey County.

80, B.A., Government, was promoted to managing director of General Supplies & Services, a Dubai, United Arab Emirates company that provides products to international clients throughout the Middle East. He is a retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel who has traveled to more than 50 countries since graduating from Sac State. He spent the last six years living in Germany, Italy, Macedonia, Yugoslavia and Hungary. He now makes his home in a villa overlooking the Arabian Gulf.

- GINA SPADAFORI
'81, B.A., Journalism, lives in Sacramento and is a syndicated pet-care columnist in newspapers across the United States and Canada, including the Sacramento Bee. Prior to 1996, she was an editor at the Bee for 18 years. She is the author of the first three books in the "…For Dummies" pet-care line, with combined sales of more than 350,000 copies. Spadafori was the editor of The State Hornet in 1980-81 and sports editor the prior year.
- DAVID TRIMINGHAM
'81, Recreation and Park Administration, lives in Vacaville. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 2002 after 21 years in the service. He now works in Vacaville for ALZA, a firm that partners with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to develop and manufacture products to enhance healthcare for millions of patients worldwide.
- CHRISTINA RAGSDALE
'83, B.A., Communication Studies, a longtime Sacramento public relations figure with more than 20 years of experience, has opened a public consulting practice called Christina Ragsdale Communications. Her practice focuses in the areas of strategic planning for development, assessment, crisis media relations and training, community relations and web content, among others. One of her award-winning activities was producing Railfair '91, one of the largest one-time events ever staged in Sacramento and named as a top event in the world that year. CRC is located in Rancho Murieta, Calif.
- ROY LANSBURGH
'84, B.A., Criminal Justice, worked for Yolo County Probation Department as a unit supervisor after graduation. In 1994, he obtained his juris doctorate from UNC School of Law in Sacramento. He went to the Contra Costa County Probation Department as a deputy probation officer and is now working with adult drug offenders seeking substance abuse treatment. He is pursuing a master's degree in theology with the Institute of Biblical Studies after being ordained a Christian minister at his local church in 2001. He lives in Woodland, Calif.

(Management), is president of Properties Unlimited Commercial R/E in Elk Grove, Calif. In his leisure time, he plays on softball teams and last year won the North American Fast Pitch World Series, Division AAA in Chippewa Falls, Wis., playing with Team Lyons of Fresno, Calif. In addition, he played for the North American All-Stars in a five-game exhibition series against the USA Softball Men's National Team, which finished fourth in the world tournament in New Zealand.

'84, B.S., Engineering and Computer Science, and JANE REINMUTH, '84, B.A., Education, are both retired and live in Sacramento. Don is retired from Pacific Gas & Electric
and Jane has enjoyed a career in education after going through the graduate program in early childhood
education. Each is active in the Sacramento Traditional Jazz Society with Jane overseeing the "tailgate room" at the Second Sunday gatherings at the Dante Club. She's involved with AAUW and is the reservation chair. Don is a member of SIRS and is a Little Sir in Sacramento Branch 14. They also fit bowling and golf into their busy lives.

License in 1997 and her Series 63 Securities License in 2004. She resides in Sacramento.
- DOROTHY L. WAKE
'86, B.A., Sociology, '95, M.A., Government, recently authored the biography Mother Jones, Revolutionary Leader of Labor and Social Reform. Her research brings to light the impact Mother Jones had on the labor movement for nearly half a century and reveals Jones as a feminist voice. It is available in bookstores and online. She has donated a copy to the Sacramento State library.
- JOHN AUVINEN
'87, M.S., Criminal Justice, is the chief investigator for the internal unit of the State of California Department of Insurance, Fraud Division. The agency enforces insurance fraud laws in California. He is in charge of all internal investigations involving the division's peace officer investigators in the nine separate regional offices in California. He has given training presentations
at fraud conferences nationwide and has also been qualified as an expert witness in criminal court on various insurance fraud issues.
- FERNANDO GUZMAN III
'87, M.S., Counseling, holds a doctoral degree in counseling psychology from the University of Denver and his expertise is in Chicano/a mental health issues, acculturation and ethnic identity development. He has more than 13 years experience serving as a board member on a number of local nonprofits and works to develop creative and groundbreaking
strategies for recruiting highly qualified board and staff members of color. He is the assistant provost for multicultural faculty recruitment and retention at the University of Denver.

- MARC BURGAT
'93, B.A., Government, has been named chief legislative representative to the Los Angeles mayor's office and the City of Los Angeles. A native Los Angelino, he joined former Mayor James Hahn's lobbying team in Sacramento in 2003. He has worked with the legislature
since arriving in Sacramento in 1991 and was president of Strategic Communications and Advocacy prior to joining the City of Los Angeles. He has more than 14 years of legislative and public affairs experience. Burgat and wife Ursula live in West Sacramento with their four children.

has been named a senior vice president at Grubb & Ellis Company, a provider of integrated real estate services. He earned Rookie of the Year in 1996, was promoted to vice president in 2000 and was ranked among the company's top 100 brokers nationwide in 2003 and 2004. During those same years he also received the Power Broker Award from CoStar, which honors the top 20 brokers in the region. He lives in Roseville with wife Deanne and their two children.

'00, B.S., '03, M.S., Social Work, is a psychiatric social worker at Napa State Hospital. He works with the forensic population, where he provides group and individual psychotherapy, case management, and biopsychosocial rehabilitation groups. He is also working on his exams for his L.C.S.W.
