Serving up VICTORIES
FOOTBALL
Sac State returns nine all-Big Sky Conference selections from last year. But they will face one of the most difficult schedules in school history, opening the year at Cal, then traveling to Cal Poly and Portland State before the Causeway Classic against UC Davis on Sept. 24.
VOLLEYBALL
For the second-straight season, the Hornets will need to find a replacement
for two first team all-Big Sky Conference selections. Nonetheless, the squad was a unanimous choice to finish first in the league's preseason coaches poll. It was the second-consecutive year and fifth time in the last nine years the Hornets have been picked to win the conference title.
MEN'S SOCCER
Head coach Michael Linenberger
looks to improve on last year's third-place finish in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation
with the addition of the program's best recruiting class in the team's history, as well as the return of two all-conference performers.
WOMEN'S SOCCER
Second-year head coach Katie Poynter's first recruiting class includes players from some of the top club teams in Southern California and was picked second in the Big Sky Conference by Soccer Buzz Magazine.
CROSS COUNTRY
The men's cross country team returns two of its brightest young runners from last season. The women's team returns both its most experienced member, and fastest runner for the majority of the last season.
