About Us

Welcome to the Office of Research Affairs!

Sacramento State’s research and scholarly portfolio is led by faculty focused on active integration of teaching, research and inquiry. Within departments, individual research agendas thrive alongside interdisciplinary research collaborations. Students, both undergraduate and graduate, are increasingly involved in faculty projects. Across the campus, academic programs and curricula are being revised, and research pathways are being redefined, to address new demands.

Our office works within the framework of the Division of Academic Affairs to link a range of campus initiatives related to faculty research, student research, industry and government outreach, internal curriculum and program development, and other academic and infrastructure initiatives that advance our faculty and campus connection to the regional community.  The Office of Research Affairs (ORA) provides support and development services related to the campus research enterprise, including the submission of externally funded grant and contract proposals, cooperative agreements with federal agencies, and other mechanisms that advance the campus research agenda. ORA also facilitates the Institutional Review Board, the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, research integrity and compliance, patent and tech transfer coordination, and other research related activities for Academic Affairs and the campus.

Please check back over the summer for more information about our office and the new initiatives soon to be underway!
