Celebration of Research and Creative Activity
The Faculty Senate’s Research and Creative Activity Subcommittee (RCAS), in collaboration with Academic Affairs’ Office of Research Administration, sponsored this first annual celebration to showcase the substantial range of faculty research and creative activity to the campus and larger community on April 21, 2010 in the University Union.
Over sixty faculty colleagues discussed their research or creative activity during the celebration which was free and open to the public. Faculty was encouraged to attend and to urge their classes to attend as many sessions as might be appropriate. The day concluded with a reception and announcement of the RCA Capstone Award winners.
Academic Affairs contributed two 3-unit course releases and three $1000 professional development monetary grants for this year’s RCA Capstone Awards. Awards were made to the Celebration presenters whose projects were judged to have made a significant contribution to their field.
