Research and Creative Activity Subcommittee

California State University, Sacramento and the CSU system recognize that research and creative activity are necessary and integral parts of a university professor's scholarly endeavors. Since 1988, the Research and Creative Activity (RCA) Award Program has helped faculty advance their professional aims.

The Research and Creative Activity Subcommittee (RCAS) is responsible for managing the peer-review award process. Composed of faculty volunteers, it solicits proposals during the fall semester of each academic year, calls for faculty reviewers, and organizes the review panels. Awards typically are announced by mid-Spring.

The RCA Award program provides support through assigned time (up to six units per academic year), monetary grants ($2,500 or $5,000) and/or summer fellowships (one month for tenured faculty; two months for tenure-track faculty) for research and creative activity projects.
