Student Opportunities:

At PHSRP we have internship and employment opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students. Students work in tandem with staff to gain experience working in a research and professional setting. We have students working on a variety of tasks including: interviewing and data collection, maintaining quality control, assisting in database management, and providing administrative support. We take great pride in the accomplishments of our student interns and employees.

      • Student Interviewer

The Student Interviewer is to conduct health related surveys over the telephone with adult and/or minor residents of California, in English and/or Spanish, for the Public Health Survey Research Program (PHSRP). They obtain survey data by entering respondent information into a computer and correctly assigning disposition codes to each telephone call outcome in accordance with training. The purpose of this job is to collect confidential quality data for numerous state and federal public health agencies.

      • Graduate Research Assistants

Graduate Research Assistants will assist with monitoring for data quality and conducting health related surveys over the telephone with adult and/or minor residents of California, in English and/or Spanish, for the Public Health Survey Research Program (PHSRP). Data is obtained by interviewers entering respondent information into a computer and correctly assigning disposition codes to each telephone call outcome in accordance with their training. The purpose of this job is to assist PHSRP with data integrity as well as obtain valuable experience in applied research.
