Local Student Research Competition Held March 15, 2008
The Office of Research Administration hosted the Sacramento State 22nd Annual Student Research Local Competition on Saturday, March 15, 2008. There were eighteen students from various disciplines competing, with ten students qualifying to compete in the statewide competition.
The first place winner was Hitasha Mitera, Graduate, Speech Language Pathology. Her topic was entitled Assessment for People with Aphasia: To facilitate clinicians in providing evidence-based treatments for people with aphasia, by providing a comprehensive assessment tool incorporating advantages of other assessments tools, minimizing disadvantages. Ms. Mitera received a $200 prize, plus the opportunity to compete at the statewide competition.
All ten students will compete in the statewide competition on May 2nd and 3rd at CSU, East Bay. Their travel expenses will be reimbursed by an ARA Grant and the Office of Research Administration.
