The Office of Research Administration hosted the 24th Annual Sacramento State Student Research Competition on Saturday, March 6, 2010. Thirteen students from various disciplines competed and nine were selected to represent Sacramento State at the CSU System-wide competition to be held at San Jose State University on April 30 and May 1.
The faculty jurors selected Bianca Davis, an undergraduate in Biological Sciences, as the winner for the best presentation. Her topic was “The Effect of Microwaves on the Ability to Detect Semen Stains on Fabric.” Davis received a $200 prize, plus the opportunity to compete at the system-wide competition.
The eight additional students that were selected to represent Sac State at the system-wide competition will have their travel expenses reimbursed by an ARA Grant and the Office of Research Administration.
