Plugin/Video Player Requirements
To view content, you may need some additional browser plug-ins:
- Real player
Required for video streaming courses - Flash player
Required to view multimedia presentations built with Flash - Java
Required to run Java "applets"
You can find additional, non-required, plugins on our browser plugin and video player information page.
Java Requirements
To use SacCT's features, you will be required to download the latest version of Java. You can check to see if you already have Java installed and download the latest version here:
How to Enable JavaScript
In order to access all of SacCT's features, JavaScript needs to be enabled. In order to enable JavaScript, select your browser from the list below and follow the guide.
How to enable JavaScript in Google Chrome:
- At the top-right of the Chrome window, click the Chrome menu button
- Click Settings
- Scroll down and click Show advanced settings...
- Under the Privacy heading, click Content Settings...
- On the dialog box that opened, scroll until you see the JavaScript heading. Click the button next to Allow all sites to run JavaScript
- Click OK
- Refresh your Chrome page
How to enable JavaScript in Firefox:
- At the top-left of the Firefox window, click the Firefox button and click Options

- Click the Content tab
- Check the box that says Enable JavaScript
- Click OK
- Refresh your Firefox window
How to enable JavaScript in Internet Explorer:
- Click the gear icon, located at the top-right of your browser.
- Click Internet Options

- Click the Security tab
- Click the Custom Level... button
- Look for the Scripting heading. It is near the bottom on the list on the dialog box that has opened up.
- Under Active Scripting, click Enable.
- Click OK on all dialog boxes that open.
- Refresh your Internet Explorer page
How to enable JavaScript in Safari:
- Click the Safari button
- Select Preferences
- Click the Security tab
- Check the Enable JavaScript box
- Close the window and refresh your page
How to Enable Pop-ups
In order to access all of SacCT's features, pop-ups by www.csus.edu need to be allowed. In order to enable these pop-ups, select your browser from the list below and follow the guide.
How to enable Pop-ups in Google Chrome:
- At the top-right of the Chrome window, click the Chrome menu button
- Click Settings
- Scroll down and click Show advanced settings...
- Under the Privacy heading, click Content Settings...
- On the dialog box that opened, scroll until you see the Pop-ups heading.
- Click either Allow all sites to show pop-ups or Do not allow any site to show pop-ups
- If you click Do not allow any site to show pop-ups, click Manage Exceptions... and add: https://[*.]bbpilot.csus.edu:443
- Click OK
- Refresh your Google Chrome page
How to enable Pop-ups in Firefox:
- At the top-left of the Firefox window, click the Firefox button and click Options

- Click the Content tab
- Next to Block Pop-up Windows, click Exceptions... (recommended) or uncheck the box next to it.
- In the new dialog box that opens if you add an exception, enter: http://www.csus.edu and click Allow
- Click OK
- Refresh your Firefox window
How to enable Pop-ups in Internet Explorer:
- Click the gear icon, located at the top-right of your browser.
- Click Internet Options

- Click the Privacy tab
- Under the Pop-up Blocker heading, click Settings to allow an exception (recommended) or uncheck the box to turn off your pop-up blocker.
- In the new dialog box that opens if you add an exception, enter: http://www.csus.edu and click Add
- Click Close and OK
- Refresh your Internet Explorer Window
How to enable Pop-ups in Safari:
- Click the Safari button
- If there is a check mark next to Block Pop-up windows, click it to enable pop-ups.

- Refresh your Safari window.
How to Enable Cookies
In order to access all of SacCT's features, cookies needs to be enabled. In order to enable cookies, select your browser from the list below and follow the guide.
How to enable Cookies in Google Chrome:
- At the top-right of the Chrome window, click the Chrome menu button
- Click Settings
- Scroll down and click Show advanced settings...
- Under the Privacy heading, click Content Settings...
- On the dialog box that opened, look for the Cookies heading (should be the first heading in this new box).
- Click the button next to Allow local data to be set
- Click OK
- Refresh your Google Chrome page
How to enable Cookies in Firefox:
- At the top-left of the Firefox window, click the Firefox button and click Options

- Click the Privacy tab
- Under the History heading, select Use Custom Settings for History in the drop-down box next to Firefox will:
- Make sure the box next to Accept Cookies from Sites is checked
- Click OK
- Refresh your Firefox window
How to enable Cookies in Internet Explorer:
- Click the gear icon, located at the top-right of your browser
- Click Internet Options

- Click the Privacy tab
- Under the Settings heading, move the slider to Medium, which will allow certain types of cookies
- Click OK
- Refresh your Internet Explorer Window
How to enable Cookies in Safari:
- Click the Safari button
- Select Preferences
- Click the Security tab
- Look for Accept Cookies on the dialog box that has just opened.
- Click the button next to either Always or Only from sites you navigate to
- Close the window and refresh your page
How to Clear your Browser's Cache
If you are experiencing issues with SacCT, you may need to clear your browser's cache. In order to do this, select your browser from the list below and follow the guide.
How to clear the cache on Chrome:
- Click the chrome menu button at the top-right of your browser
- Select Tools
- Select Clear browsing data
- In the box that appears, make sure that the Empty the cache box is checked (along with anything else you would like to clear).
- Select how far back you would like to delete. To clear the entire cache select beginning of time (recommended).
- Click Clear browsing data
How to clear the cache on Firefox:
- At the top-left of the Firefox window, click the Firefox button and click Options

- Click the Advanced button
- Click the Network tab
- Under the Cached Web Content section, click Clear Now
How to clear the cache on Internet Explorer:
- Click Tools
- Click Delete browsing history...

- Make sure the box next to Temporary Internet Files is selected
- Click Delete
- Refresh your Internet Explorer page.
How to clear the cache on Safari:
On Mac operating systems:
- Click the Safari button
- Click Empty Cache
- On the dialog window that appears, click Empty

On Windows operating systems:
- Click the Edit button
- Click Empty Cache
- On the dialog window that appears, click Empty

Try a New Browser
If you are still unable to resolve your problem, you can try choosing a new browser from the list of supported browsers.

Open University Students
