Transferring Files to the SacLink and Sacramento State Web Servers Using Windows Explorer
The information below details how to use Windows Explorer to transfer files
to and from your personal storage space on the SacLink server and to post
SacLink personal Web pages and Sac State Web server pages.
Note: You will need a SacLink account. To post pages on the
Sac State Web server you will also need to request a Sac State Web Server account.
For information on activating your SacLink Web page see
http://www.csus.edu/saclink/web/. Sac State Web Server accounts
can be obtained by faculty, staff, and student organizations. To request
a Sac State Web Server account fill out the online Request
for Web Server Account form.
- Go to Start -> Run (or Start -> Start Search for Windows Vista Computers).
- Enter the FTP address and click OK.
To transfer files to your personal SacLink web page or file storage space (U:\ drive) use ftp://ftp.saclink.csus.edu.
For web pages on the CSUS web server use ftp://www.csus.edu.

- Enter your SacLink User name and SacLink Password and then click Log On.

- Use the drag and drop or the copy and paste method to transfer files from other folders to the remote folder. To post to the SacLink personal Web pages, place the files to the web directory folder. Make sure the main page of your website is named index.htm. For file storage, copy them to the main directory, or you may create a new folder to store files.
