Campus a Leader in Diverse Grads
Sac State ranks among the nation’s leaders in granting degrees to ethnically diverse students. The June issue of Diverse: Issues in Higher Education ranked the University 27th nationwide for the diversity of its graduates in 2004-05. Using a U.S. Department of Education report, the magazine also found a 5 percent annual increase nationwide in the number of minority students graduating with bachelor’s degrees from fouryear colleges and universities.
More than half of Sac State’s 28,000 students are from ethnically diverse populations. The University ranked 29th nationwide in the number of Hispanic students earning a four-year undergraduate degree. And among Asian Americans graduating with education and health degrees Sac State was 19th. |
