Noon on home football game days, Alumni Center
The Alumni Association, in partnership with the Athletics Department and the Stinger Athletic Association, is gearing up for a great tailgate season at Sac State. Plans are underway to turn the Alumni Center parking lot into the Hornet’s Nest where fans and families will gather for fun. Entertainment will be provided by the Sac State Marching Band, dance team and cheer squad. There will be prizes, gifts and lots of food. Six Saturday home games are on the schedule: Aug. 30, Sept. 13, Sept. 27, Oct. 25, Nov. 1 and Nov. 15. Tailgating starts at noon, football kicks off at 2:05 p.m.
Salute to Spirit

Calling all spirit leaders. A new tradition at Sac State will be celebrated at the first tailgate party and home football game. The Hornets will play the Humboldt Lumberjacks, a rival from years ago. Help us find some of the missing yell leaders, song leaders and Herkies from bygone eras. Alumni Summit in China Oct. 22-31 Hong Kong and Beijing
The first Sac State International Alumni Summit in China will bring together faculty, alumni, and business and education leaders from the Sacramento Region and China to discuss such topics as China/U.S. business ventures, contemporary Chinese arts and culture, and challenges to building a sustainable environment. The trip includes round-trip travel from Sacramento to Hong Kong and tours of Hong Kong and Beijing, a visit to a Chinese University and an opportunity to meet with members of Sac State’s Hong Kong Alumni Chapter. Homecoming Weekend Sept. 25-27
Our annual celebration keeps getting better and better. There will be reunions, the annual Golden Grads Luncheon, a Homecoming Festival with tailgating and children’s activities, and more. It wraps up with the Homecoming Football Game vs. Portland State. This year’s Homecoming is earlier than usual, and you won’t want to miss out.
