Student hailed as hero

HOMETOWN HERO— Kinesiology major Anthony Sadler is credited with
helping foil an alleged terrorist attack on a train in Europe.

Sacramento State senior Anthony Sadler made international news in August when he and two friends thwarted an alleged terrorist attack while riding a train between Amsterdam and Paris.

Sadler and his traveling partners earned the praise of people around the world, from President Barack Obama to French President Francois Hollande, who presented him with the Legion of Honor medal, the country’s highest award.

Here in Sacramento, residents expressed their gratitude for the kinesiology major by establishing a community scholarship to assist him in his studies at Sac State. Contributions may be made in care of The University Foundation at Sacramento State to the Anthony Sadler Community Scholarship, which Sadler can put toward tuition, books and other expenses.
