Daniel Zingale

For nearly 20 years, Daniel Zingale has been involved with public policy regarding human rights, preventive health care, national AIDS policy, Medicaid reform, and California financial solvency issues. He is currently chief of staff to California First Lady Maria Shriver, and a senior-level advisor to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. Previously, he served on the Agriculture Labor Relations Board and was the cabinet secretary and deputy chief of staff for Gov. Gray Davis. He founded the California Department of Managed Health Care, establishing its HMO Help Center. Nationally, he’s worked on AIDS issues and civil and human rights, serving on the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights. He was a student at Sacramento State from 1978 to 1981 before earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees at UC Berkeley and Harvard.
