Alumni Attitude Survey Says...

During September 2008, 10,000 alumni each received an e-mail survey from the Alumni Association asking their opinions about Sac State. The results are in, and we heard what they have to say.

Here are the top five findings:

Alumni want to hear more about student and faculty achievements and how Sac State continues to produce quality alumni.

Our 30-and-under crowd want more programs and activities aimed at their age group and to see how their involvement helps the University.

Juniors, seniors and recent grads also want more programs of their own and opportunities to connect with alumni who have valuable experience to share.

Alumni want more information about Sac State’s career development opportunities.

Out-of-state alumni seek ways they can participate despite their distance.

The Alumni Association is committed to addressing these requests, and we are planning changes for the next academic year. One of the biggest additions will be a Student Alumni Association program. Respondents of all ages clearly stated that there was a desire for alumni and students to have more networking opportunities. This also will allow us to build a sequence of programs to engage our most recent alumni as they make the change from students to professionals.

We received feedback on our web site and magazine. This input will be used to build content with more of a focus on how Sac State is being recognized for the outstanding accomplishments of faculty and students. Alumni are proud of their alma mater and want more accolades to share with others.

We were pleased to learn that alumni “always” or “most of the time” talk to others about Sac State, both in encouraging students to attend and sharing the University’s accomplishments with the community. We want to help you showcase how Sac State is creating leaders for the region, state, nation and beyond.
