Football
Saturday: Won 24-9 vs. Idaho State, improving to 4-6 overall and finishing 3-5 in the Big
Sky Conference.
Next: 1:05 p.m. Saturday vs. UC Davis at Hornet Stadium in the 58th annual Causeway Classic.
Men’s basketball
Friday: Defeated visiting Menlo 70-56.
Sunday: Defeated visiting Central Arkansas 75-54.
Record: 2-0.
Next: 7:05 p.m. Thursday at Washington State.
Women’s basketball
Friday: Lost 81-64 to visiting Cal State Fullerton.
Sunday: Lost 117-55 at No. 15 Oklahoma.
Record: 0-2.
Next: 7:05 p.m. Thursday at California.
Volleyball
Thursday: Defeated visiting Montana State in four games (23-25, 25-15, 25-16, 25-21).
Saturday: Defeated visiting Montana in three games (25-17, 25-19, 25-16). The victories
clinched for Sac State its first berth in the Big Sky Conference tournament since 2008.
Next: 7 p.m. Friday at Eastern Washington.
Men’s soccer
Thursday: Lost 4-2 to San Jose State in the quarterfinals of the Mountain Pacific Sports
Federation tournament in Denver. The loss ended the season for the Hornets, who finished 9-8-2.
Cross country
Saturday: Reesey Byers and Rachel Mitchell each recorded one of the top five finishes in
school history at the NCAA Cross Country West Regional on Saturday at Stanford. Byers ran
the 10K in 30:31. His time was the fastest in school history at an NCAA Regional. Mitchell
finished the 6K in 21:28 for the second-fastest time by a Hornet. As a team, the Hornet men
finished 20th while the women were 21st.
