Sacramento State students who would like to work in Washington for a few months are invited to apply for the Congressional Internship Program offered by the Panetta Institute of Public Policy.
One junior or senior will be chosen from each of the 23 campuses in the California State University system, and Dominican and Santa Clara universities. Sacramento State students have until Friday, Feb. 17 to submit their applications to Tahoe Hall 3054.
The fall program runs Aug. 12-Nov. 10. The session includes a two-week orientation at the Monterey Bay campus, an 11-week internship in Washington, the cost of academic fees and tuition, food and housing, a living stipend, and air and ground transportation. Students can earn up to 20 academic credits.
Students will also be required to attend seminars, maintain a journal and write a 20-page research paper.
Application packets must include the essay, a current resume, transcripts and two references. Packets should be addressed to President Gonzalez, Panetta Congressional Internship, c/o Center for California Studies, Sacramento State, 6000 J St., Sacramento, CA 95819-6081.
