Sacramento State’s Residence Hall Association (RHA) will help feed the homeless 8-11 a.m. Sunday, March 11, at B and 16th streets. Program Director Beta (Sii) Fakasiieiki says volunteers are welcome to join this community service in conjunction with Americans Helping America.

“Our association has been very proactive in trying to promote community events,” she says. So far the organization has held social mixers, Activity Saturday with games and music, and Open Mic night where more than 100 students have displayed their talents. When Sac State football player John Bloomfield told Sii about feeding the hungry, she saw this as an opportunity for the RHA to help the needy “in our own back yard.”

Sii and several Sacramento State students will appear on Comcast Channel Public Access 17 at 10 p.m. Wednesday, March 21.

RHA has a sign-up sheet for volunteers. For further information contact SiiFakasiieiki@gmail.com.
