Sacramento State’s Creative Services team, a unit of the Academic Affairs Academic Technology and Creative Services Division, has been recognized statewide and internationally for its work this year.

Sacramento State received an International Association of Business Communicators Crystal Award of Merit, one of the most prestigious in the Sacramento area.

The State Information Officers Council awarded the top honor in the Annual Report Publication category to the First 5 California Annual Report, a project of Sacramento State’s Institute of Social Research. The entire design and production was completed by Creative Services Senior Designer Merle Rae Meusborn.

Sacramento State also received an International Association of Business Communicators Crystal Award of Merit. The award is one of the most prestigious in the Sacramento area, recognizing regional excellence in the field of communication. The award-winning annual report can be found online.

Two video segments produced by the Sacramento State team for the California Department of Boating and Waterways won Bronze International Telly Awards. The programs, “Finding the Proper Life Jacket to Fit Your Life” and “Discovering a New World of Inflatable Life Jackets,” won individual honors in the Internet/Online Programs, Segments, or Promotional Pieces – Safety category. Both segments were produced, directed and edited by Keith Rogers, Jeff Medlicott, JP Redman, Jim Molina and Susan Pikowsky-Tatar. The concept was developed by the Department of Boating and Waterways and starred comedian Jack Gallagher.

Michaeline J. Veden, executive producer and assistant director for Creative Services, considers herself “fortunate to have the opportunity to work with such a talented and dedicated team.”

“Every client and every project is important to us,” she says, “and we do our very best to provide them with a quality professional product and experience.”

Veden’s praise is seconded by Jean-Pierre R. Bayard, assistant vice president for Academic Affairs Technology Initiatives and director of Academic Technology & Creative Services. “The quality of our products and the expertise of our staff add incredible value to the University by way of the support we provide to the academic mission,” he says.
