Sacramento State is ready to honor another set of outstanding alumni during the Distinguished Alumni Awards (DAA) at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 25, in the University’s Alumni Center.
Five Sacramento State graduates have been selected for Distinguished Service Awards and a sixth will receive the Rising Star Award.

Distinguished Service Awards:
The Rising Star Award will be given to Christina Preston, a 2011 anthropology graduate who founded Shoes4Sacramento and is an assistant in the Anthropology Department.
The awards are presented jointly by Sacramento State President Alexander Gonzalez and the Alumni Association. Several of the most influential community leaders are Sacramento State alumni, and the DAA showcases how the University’s impact reaches well beyond the campus.
The dinner and program will be hosted by KFBK radio news anchor Kitty O’Neal, a 1979 graduate of Sacramento State. The reception and silent auction begin at 5:30 p.m. The dinner and program begin at 7.
Early-bird tickets are available through Friday, Feb. 22, at $85 per person, $680 per table of eight, and $850 for a table of 10 guests. After Feb. 22, tickets are $100, $800, and $1,000.
