The North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) is holding its annual training and certification conference at Sacramento State, March 8-10.
The event will be open to NABCEP certified installers and technical sales professionals, and will provide an opportunity to fulfill all continuing education requirements for recertification at a single event. Plenary sessions and exhibits will be at the Alumni Center, and classes and training will be held in classrooms throughout Riverside Hall.
Solar inverter solutions provider SMA America, headquartered in Rocklin, is this year’s premier sponsor. The SMA Solar Academy will lead two technical training sessions at the conference. Attendees also will enjoy a networking reception, where they can trade installation best practices and discuss the latest in technology and design.
Other major sponsors include Intersolar, Schneider Electric, SolarWorld, Rolls Battery Engineering and Solar Pro Magazine.
The following companies will present technical training on products and solutions: Ameresco; Burndy LLC; Enphase Energy; Magnum Energy; Morningstar Corp.; Power-One; Quick Mount Photo Voltaic, PV; Schletter; Schneider Electric; SMA; Solar Edge; SolarWorld; Solectria Renewables; Rolls Battery Engineering; and Zep Solar.
Plenary session topics include the 2011 National Electric Code, changes to the 2014 NEC, and roofing for non-roofers. Continuing education credits will be offered for attendance at each of these special presentations.
Dean Emir José Macari, College of Engineering and Computer Science, expects 300 or more will attend this year’s conference. “I am really looking forward to the NABCEP Conference,” he says. “It is a really big deal to train and certify our country’s clean energy sector workforce, and I am very proud that NABCEP chose Sacramento State for this year’s conference.”
