Sacramento State received almost 33,000 undergraduate applications, including 11,288 transfer applications, for the Fall 2014 semester. The application period closed Nov. 30.
The University’s Admissions Office already has sent out more than 8,000 admission notices to the most high-achieving applicants. The remaining notifications will go out in February and March.
A total of 526,798 first-time freshman applications were received at the California State University’s 23 campuses. Transfer applications totaled 234,659. Potential students typically submit applications to multiple campuses.
Sacramento State officials note that the University’s outreach efforts continue to benefit both first-time and transfer college students.
The University promotes its programs to potential freshmen through school visits, Sacramento State campus events, and the use of email, telephone blasts and the University’s website, says Emiliano Diaz, director of Sacramento State’s Admissions and Outreach.
Sacramento State also works hand-in-hand with community colleges. “This helps ensure the transfer students understand the requirements and admissions procedures,” Diaz says.
