Students in Sacramento State's Doctor of Physical Therapy program are helping youngsters ages 4 and younger who have neuro-motor impairment walk sooner and more independently. The free program, known as STEPS, is an outgrowth of Professor Katrin Mattern-Baxter's research on intensive training using mini-treadmills for very young children with cerebral palsy and originally was conceived in collaboration with therapists from Easter Seals Superior California, Sacramento.
