The results are in — Sac State donated an equivalent of 7,443 lbs. of food for the needy in the Sacramento region during the 2010 State Employees Food Drive, an increase of 271 lbs. collected in 2009. The 7,443 lbs. included monetary donations in the amount of $2,280, as well as many canned and dry food items.

The food drive effort was carried out by the staff employees in University Transportation and Parking Services (UTAPS), a division of Administration and Business Affairs (ABA) and coordinated by Nancy Fox, senior director.

The amount of food collected and money donated was a wonderful effort by the Sac State campus community. Donations were made by staff, faculty and students, as well as members of our neighborhood community. The donations went a long way to help needy children and families in our region experience a warmer and happier holiday during a very difficult economic time for everyone. The Sac State community should feel proud of our efforts in the food drive.  Thank you for your participation in this important annual event.
