California’s public higher education leaders were at the Capitol on Tuesday, April 5, to advocate for funding for the state’s colleges. Representatives from California Community Colleges, California State University and the University of California met with Gov. Jerry Brown and dozens of lawmakers in Sacramento during Joint Advocacy Day. UC President Mark Yudof, CSU Chancellor Charles Reed and Community Colleges Chancellor Jack Scott asked the governor and lawmakers to spare public colleges and universities from more cuts. Sacramento State President Alexander Gonzalez and other university presidents and leaders were also among those meeting with the Legislature.
