Sac State to host New Faze baseball camp


Up to 350 kids have the opportunity to get free baseball instruction from Sacramento State coaches and former professional players when the University hosts the fifth annual New Faze Development Baseball Camp on Saturday, Aug. 27.

The camp, held at John Smith Field on the campus, is free for kids ages 8-18. Campers will be broken up into groups based on age. Registration begins at 8 a.m., with instruction scheduled for 9 a.m.-2 p.m. While the camp is free, parents and guardians are encouraged to pre-register participants at

Among the former major leaguers coaching will be a couple of locals: Grant High School graduate Ricky Jordan and Kennedy High School grad Greg Vaughn.
