The undergraduate application process for Sacramento State’s Fall 2012 semester runs Oct. 1 to Nov. 30, and University officials are gearing up for another possible record number of college seekers.
Prospective undergraduates should visit Sacramento State’s Admissions and Outreach website, www.csus.edu/admissions/
, and click on “I want to apply” for details.
Last year, more than 32,500 prospective students applied for admission to Sacramento State, the largest application pool in the University’s history. For Fall 2012, University officials expect up to 34,000 applicants.
Once the applications have been processed and those who are not that interested in Sacramento State are winnowed out, it’s anticipated 6,500 to 7,000 new students will be admitted, which is about average, says Admissions and Outreach Director Emiliano Diaz. University officials expect about 1,200 graduate and other post-baccalaureate students to enroll next fall as well.
In July 2010, Sacramento State declared a campuswide impaction for the University. “At this stage, we are not sure if we will need to employ impaction criteria or not,” Diaz says. “Once we determine how many students can be accommodated, the decision will be made whether students outside Sacramento State’s local area will need to meet additional criteria to be admitted.”
