The cast and crew of Sac State’s A Broadway Christmas are extending their Christmas spirit well beyond the proverbial footlights of the University Theatre and helping to make it a brighter holiday for children throughout the community.
The holiday review filled with dancing and singing has partnered with the Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots drive and will offer a free ticket to individuals who bring a new, unwrapped toy to the 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, performance.
“In this difficult economic time, we want to make sure as many children as possible get a gift this holiday season,” says the show’s director, Professor Ed Brazo.
People on a budget will also appreciate the Santa Special at the 2 p.m. performances on Dec. 10 and Sunday, Dec. 11. A packet of four tickets is only $25 – a savings of $35 for four adults.
Other performances are at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 7 and 8, and 8 p.m. Dec. 9 and 10. Regular prices for the 6:30 p.m. performances are $10 general admission and $7 for children under 12. All other performances are $15 general admission, $12 for seniors and students, and $10 for children. Tickets are available at the University Ticket Office, (916) 278-4323, or www.tickets.com.
A Broadway Christmas is a series of vignettes – some humorous, others poignant – featuring your favorite Christmas carols, a full chorus, even tap-dancing wooden soldiers.
The performers will present a free, sneak preview of the wooden soldiers number every 15 minutes between noon and 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Roseville Galleria.
