The California State University system recently developed a Net Price & Cost Calculator (NPCC) that is accessible from the Sacramento State Financial Aid Office, www.csus.edu/faid . The NPCC application is also accessible from www.csumentor.edu.

The NPCC is designed to allow high school and college students to estimate their respective financial aid eligibility information with an easy-to-use electronic system. This enables them to receive information about this estimated eligibility for grants and need-based loans.  The NPCC is not an application for financial aid, and students must still complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine their actual eligibility.

This new tool can help students and their families plan for the estimated costs of higher education.  The NPCC will also provide general estimates of different financial aid programs students may qualify for to help pay these costs.

“Financial aid is often a confusing topic for students and their families,” says Craig Yamamoto, director of financial aid at Sacramento State.  “I always encourage students to speak with a financial aid counselor if they have questions.”
