Sac State students get ready for Commencement


More than 2,500 Sacramento State students will be eligible to walk across the stage during Winter Commencement ceremonies Friday, Dec. 16, and Saturday, Dec. 17, at Power Balance Pavilion.

Friday ceremonies:

  • Noon – College of Business Administration
  • 3 p.m. – College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics
  • 5:30 p.m. – College of Social Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies

Saturday ceremonies:

  • 8:30 a.m. – College of Health and Human Services
  • 11:30 a.m. – College of Arts and Letters
  • 2:30 p.m. – College of Engineering and Computer Science
  • 5 p.m. – College of Education

Students start assembling in the pavilion an hour before each commencement.

The largest graduating class, with more than 600 students, is from the College of Social Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies. In all, the Class of 2011, including the students who graduated in the spring, totals more than 7,000. Sacramento State has an annual enrollment of about 27,000 students.
