Weekend sports roundup


Moira Robinson set a school record in the triple jump (42-06.25) while finishing second in the event at the Aggie Open on Saturday. She also won the long jump.

Friday-Sunday: Took one game of three-game series at UC Riverside. Friday: Lost 15-4. Saturday: Lost 1-0. Sunday: Won 5-2.

Record: 6-9. This week: 2 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday vs. Dartmouth at John Smith Field.

Women’s basketball

Friday: Lost 70-57 to Idaho State in a Big Sky Conference tournament semifinal.

Final record: 13-18.


Sunday: Won four-team meet vs. UC Davis, Central Michigan and Seattle Pacific. The Hornets scored 194.400 points, with the Aggies finishing second (194.025), Central Michigan third (192.725) and Seattle Pacific fourth (191.750).

Record: 3-5. This week:  7 p.m. Friday at San Jose State in tri-meet that also includes UC Davis.


Aggie Stampede II in Davis: Friday – Defeated Idaho State 10-2. Saturday – Defeated UC Davis 3-2 and Idaho State 1-0. Sunday – Defeated UC Davis 6-4.

Record: 14-8. This week: Capital Classic at Sacramento State: Friday – Noon vs. Colorado State. Saturday – 3 p.m. vs. Louisville. Sunday – 11 a.m. vs. Akron; 1 p.m. vs. Princeton.

Men’s tennis

Friday: Won 6-1 at Northern Colorado. Saturday: Lost 7-0 vs. Utah at Denver. Sunday: Lost 7-0 at Denver.

Record: 3-7. This week: 7 a.m. Saturday vs. Columbia in Arlington, Texas; 9 a.m. Sunday at Texas-Arlington.

Women’s tennis

Saturday: Won 6-1 vs. Nevada at San Diego. Sunday: Lost 5-2 at San Diego.

Record: 9-7. This week: 1 p.m. Sunday vs. St. Mary’s.

Track and field

Saturday: Moira Robinson triple jumped 42-06.25, breaking her own school record, and Zach Coniglio and James Kinloch each cracked the school top 10 for Sacramento State at the Aggie Open in Davis – the Hornets’ first outdoor competition this season. Robinson’s school-record jump was good for second in the event. Robinson also won the long jump with a mark of 19-05.25.
