Sacramento State’s Pride Center kicks off five days of events for Pride Week, beginning April 16.
The week reflects the Pride Center’s mission of working on behalf of the campus’s gay, bisexual, transgender, inter-sex, queer, questioning and ally community.
Monday, April 16, begins with an ally fair from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Library Quad and continues at 2 p.m. with a screening of the documentary “Freeheld” in the University Union’s Hinde Auditorium. “Freeheld” chronicles a dying policewoman’s bitter fight to provide for the love of her life.
On Tuesday, April 17, events include “Gender Bender,” a student-based performance event that explores the concepts of gender and sexuality through song, dance poetry and drag. The performance begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Hinde Auditorium.
