A 5-foot “Ticking Kitchen Witch” is just one of the more intriguing pieces you’ll find at Sacramento State’s free, annual Art Alumni Show, June 4-29 in Kadema Hall’s Else Gallery.

The juried art show will also include other pieces of 3D art, including items made from steel and sheet metal. Also represented are photography, printmaking (monotypes), pastels, oils, acrylics and handmade paper. Some pieces address topical issues, such as a house made from cut-up credit cards. All the work is by Sac State alumni, many of them established artists in the region whose works are often on view in local galleries.

A reception and awards presentation will take place from 5-8 p.m. Friday, June 8. Regular gallery hours are 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The show is sponsored and coordinated by Sacramento State’s Art Alumni Chapter under the guidance of chapter President Florence M. Jones.

“Sac State Professor Ian Harvey is the judge of the open show and has selected more than 30 very strong, good pieces of art for the show,” says Jones.
