Choirs Transcendent

Sacramento State’s University Choirs, led by Donald Kendrick, will present “Light Transcendent” – radiant choral works of transformation and hope. The music begins at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, in Sacred Heart Church, 39th and J streets.

The University Chorus, Women’s Chorus and Chamber Choir will offer a program that includes works involving harmonic overtone singing, such as Urmas Sisask’s “Oremus” and “Songs of the Light” by Imant Raminsh.

Other works include “Gladsome Light” by Rachmaninoff and Brahms’ motet “Warumist das Licht Gegeben.”

Tickets are $10 general admission, $7 seniors and $5 for students. Advance tickets are strongly recommended and are available at the Sacramento State Ticket Office, (916) 278-4323 or BASS Ticket Outlets, (916) 766-2277.
