Election Polls: A Conversation with Mark DiCamillo

Printer-friendly version

Mark DiCamillo, director of California’s Field Poll, will be reporting pre-election polls and comparing them with the election results Thursday, Nov. 15, from 10 to 11 a.m. in the University Union, Lobby Suite.

DiCamillo will converse with political scientists on topics such as polling methodology, accuracy and the impact of polls on elections. This conversation should be particularly interesting to political junkies as well as those who care about public policy. It is free and open to the public.

“2012 will be remembered as the year (the New York Times’) Nate Silver got it right,” says Government Professor Kimberly Nalder. “Silver would be nothing without guys like Mark DiCamillo, who has been letting Californians get a read on what our electorate will do for many years now. We are fortunate that he will explain in person what went right with the polls this year, and what challenges lie ahead.”
