Some parents simply can’t afford to buy toys and other special treats for their children during the holidays.

The University Union at Sacramento State is helping with its “Wish Upon a Star” gift drive, which runs through Friday, Dec. 7.

It’s easy to make a dream come true for a child or teenager. Stop by the “Wish Upon a Star” display in the University Union when the building is open – 6:30 a.m.-11 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 6:30 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-11 p.m. Sunday.

Choose a star and fulfill the recipient’s wish by purchasing the item printed on it. Deliver the unwrapped gift and the star to the University Union’s first-floor Services Office between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

And then help wrap the donations from 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 7.

The gifts will be delivered to Sunburst Projects, which creates safe and supportive communities for children, youth and families living with HIV/AIDS.

For media assistance, contact Sacramento State’s Office of Public Affairs at (916) 278-6156.
