When Sacramento State’s College of Engineering and Computer Science held its Spring 2013 Commencement ceremonies, it honored 10 leaders from the Sacramento region’s construction industry who have made a tremendous impact on the College’s Department of Construction Management – formerly the Construction Management Team.
The college held its Commencement at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 25, at Sleep Train Arena. During the ceremony, the University President’s Medal for Distinguished Service was awarded to the 10 construction industry officials:
Ron Brown, president and CEO of Brown Construction
Linda Clifford, CC Myers Inc. board member and CFO
John Cooper, district manager for the Associated General Contractors, Delta-Sierra District
Robert Earl, Earl Consulting Co., and founder of Earl Construction Co. (later sold to Sundt Construction Inc.)
Jim Lambert, retired executive vice president of the Sacramento Regional Builders Exchange
Scott Maxwell, vice president of Unger Construction Co.
Mike McKernan, director of operations for Granite Land Co.
Henry Meier, project executive for Swinerton Builders
Tony Moayed, founder and president of TMCS Inc., a construction management firm
Bob Olsen, CEO of J.R. Roberts Enterprises, now J.R. Roberts/Deacon Inc.
In addition to being industry leaders, the award recipients have been strong supporters of the Department of Construction Management and other education efforts.
