With 4,688 students eligible to collect their diplomas, 19 doctoral degrees, an honorary doctorate, and several awards and guest speakers, Sacramento State’s Spring 2013 Commencement is one to remember.

The University’s seven colleges will hand out diplomas May 24-25 at Sleep Train Arena. Each college will have a Dean’s Award winner and one of those students will be announced as the President’s Award winner during the ceremonies.

Friday, May 24

College of Business Administration: Students assemble at 10:30 a.m., Commencement at 11:30 a.m. Sleep Train CEO Dale Carlsen receives Honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters; CSU Trustee Roberta Achtenberg attends; Dean’s Award student is David Kim; 725 graduates.

College of Arts and Letters: 2 and 3 p.m. Dean’s Award student is James Angello; 798 graduates.

College of Education: 5 and 6 p.m. Doctoral degrees to 19 students; Dean’s Award student is Robert Kerr; 443 graduates.

Saturday, May 25

College of Health and Human Services: 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. CSU Trustee Bernadette Cheyne attends; Dean’s Award student is Caleb Shifflett; 1,134 graduates.

College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics: 11 a.m. and noon. Trustee Bernadette Cheyne attends; Dean’s Award student is Mary Blake; 301 graduates.

College of Engineering and Computer Science: 2 and 3 p.m. Trustee Bernadette Cheyne attends; President’s Medal of Distinguished Service to Scott Maxwell, Robert Olsen, James Lambert, Henry Meier Jr., John Cooper, Ronald Brown, Tony Moayed, Linda Clifford, Robert Earl and Michael McKernan; Dean’s Award student is Mark Campbell; 313 graduates.

College of Social Sciences and Interdisciplinary Studies: 5 and 6 p.m. West Sacramento Mayor Christopher Cabaldon is guest speaker; Dean’s Award student is Yalda Mohammadi; 950 graduates.
