Brad Dowden, Philosophy, has published the 20,000-word article “The Infinite” in the Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy (, a peer-reviewed academic resource. It discusses infinity and the infinite in the disciplines of philosophy, physical science, mathematics, and formal logic.

Deborah George, College of Continuing Education, is now a Certified Faculty Developer (CFD) through the Learning Resources Network. The CFD class provided training for faculty development, teaching hybrid and online courses, and adjusting to new technologies.

Mark Stoner, Communication Studies, recently served as international evaluator regarding promotion application for Dr. Kate Wall, School of Education, Durham University, UK. Also, during the period April 6-26, Dr. Stoner was a visiting research fellow in the Department of Teacher Education at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. His work consisted of observation of k-university instruction, and collaboration with research faculty and doctoral students on questions regarding instructional communication theory and practice in all instructional contexts.

David Zuckerman, Communication Studies, has been invited to the China Cultural Industry Forum, May 28-29, in Beijing. The forum is tailored to the fast-growing cultural/creative industries. Its goal is to bring global industry and opinion leaders together to discuss investment, learning, business exchange and international cooperation. Zuckerman, a Fulbright scholar, was invited by China’s Ministry of Commerce.
