The Center for California Studies at Sacramento State has joined several other sponsors to host an informational session about the Affordable Care Act at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, in the University Union Ballroom. The event is free and open to the public.
The guest speaker is Emily Bazar, senior writer with the California HealthCare Foundation’s Center for Health Reporting whose “Ask Emily” column appears biweekly in The Sacramento Bee. She will answer questions about the intricacies of the health care act.
“This event provides a unique opportunity for the community to get the nonpartisan facts about Obamacare, just in time for the sign-up deadline,” says Steve Boilard, executive director of the Center for California Studies. “We’re pleased that the University can play a role in helping individuals make better-informed decisions about their health care.”
Dec. 15 is the deadline to sign up for health insurance that will begin Jan. 1.
Parking for the Dec. 9 event is free in Parking Structure II on State University Drive East.
The sponsors of “Obamacare & You: An Evening with ‘Ask Emily’ ” are Sacramento State, Capital Public Radio, the Center for Health Reporting, The Sacramento Bee and the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy in Sacramento.
