Sac State helps with Broadway art project

A major municipal art project that will create works in “augmented reality” along Broadway has brought Sacramento State together with the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission (SMAC), the Greater Broadway Partnership District and the Urban Land Institute.

Sac State vies for 'three-peat' in statewide contest

Two years ago, Sac State’s I2P (Idea-to-Product) team won the statewide competition. Last year, three Sac State teams were selected to go to the finals, along with one team each from three other CSU campuses. A Sac State squad won that competition as well. This year, Sac State has five teams competing for statewide honors against four other squads in Santa Clara, beginning Thursday, Jan. 9.

An elaborate mélange of music, styles, choreography and stagings awaits at Dance Sites 2013 – The Faculty Dance Concert, running Dec. 11-15, at Sacramento State’s University Theatre, and will include a special night dedicated to local high schools and community colleges.

Program helps students ACE university credits

Sacramento State’s Accelerated College Entrance (ACE) program enables qualified high school junior or seniors to enroll in approved classes and earn university credits while completing regular high school studies. The students may also take campus-based courses provided that they maintain good academic standing with both the University and their high schools.

Sac State poised to create tobacco-free campus

President Alexander Gonzalez has directed the campus community to develop “a comprehensive tobacco policy beginning with the Spring 2014 semester.” The new policy would ban tobacco use on campus beginning with the Fall 2015 semester.
