Sheree Meyer named Undergraduate Studies dean

Sheree Meyer

The Office of the Provost and Academic Affairs are pleased to announce that Dr. Sheree Meyer will become dean of Undergraduate Studies effective Tuesday, July 1.

Meyer has served as associate dean of Undergraduate Studies since 2010, establishing an outstanding record of leadership. She has worked to revise important aspects of General Education and has collaborated with the Faculty Senate, deans and advisory groups to improve undergraduate teaching and learning across the University – all while making time to help students on a one-on-one basis. She also has overseen special majors and minors, as well as key initiatives that include the Honors Program, One Book, the Community Engagement Center and our First Year Experience Program.

Her role has expanded considerably since she became associate dean, and the new position recognizes the scope of her duties. She began at Sacramento State as a faculty member in 1991, becoming chair of the English Department in 2004.
