Sacramento State’s Hornet Stadium is the site of the USA Track & Field Outdoor Championships, June 25-29.

Hornet Stadium, site of the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Trials, has undergone significant upgrades. Improvements include new public entrances, a new scoreboard and a $1.4 million track. The fast Mondo Super X 720 surface – in Sac State’s green and gold – will be the centerpiece of the Championships.

Stephanie Brown-Trafton, a 2008 gold medal-winning discus thrower and director of operations for Sacramento State’s track and field team, is expected to compete. Sacramento State alumna Lea Wallace, also expected to compete in the women’s 800 meters and 1,500 meters, was a four-time NCAA All-American while at the University. Wallace is listed 11th on the Big Sky Conference’s list of “25 Greatest Female Athletes.”
