Our new president sets an ambitious, student-centered agenda

Dr. Robert S. Nelsen has taken the reins as Sacramento State's eighth permanent president, and he is on a mission to promote student success, including improving graduation and retention rates, and reducing students' time to degree. As he and his wife, Jody, introduced themselves to the campus community and regional leaders, he promised to raise funds for a new science building and an events center. "This is a great university," he says. "It's about making Sacramento State even better than it is."
