After 12 years at the helm of Sacramento State, President Alexander Gonzalez will retire Tuesday, June 30. He has ushered in many changes for the campus, including new programs, new buildings, and renewed respect from the greater Sacramento community. And with the Campus Master Plan and Strategic Plan in place, he leaves the University with a solid blueprint for future successes. In our profile, he talks about his journey from East Los Angeles to the presidency of Sac State, where his tenure will leave a lasting imprint of positive change.
The Briefing is a weekly campus newsletter for faculty and staff, distributed by email. Items may be submitted to the Briefing by using the news submission form, by sending an email to email@example.com or by calling 278-6156. The deadline for the Briefing is 10 a.m. the Wednesday before publication. Items in the Briefing are published on a space-available basis and are edited.
The Office of Public Affairs and Advocacy shares news and information about the University. You can subscribe to our news releases and to the Sacramento State Leader, our biweekly e-newsletter. And we invite you to be our partners in telling the Sac State story. Public Affairs depends on students, faculty, and staff to alert us about campus events, projects, studies, and accomplishments.
